The Monster in the Fog

The towering beast from the town's urban legend emerged from the fog, its movements unnaturally clumsy and slow. Driven by decades of fear, a neighborhood mob rushed into the dark and beat the giant shadow to death. The monster was slain. The town was finally safe. But when the morning sun illuminated the bloody scene, the triumphant cheers turned into agonizing wails. Two young brothers were reported missing, but there would be no search party.
