The Winter Scarf

Winter is finally here, and Mom knitted thick wool scarves for all of us. My sister looks just like a watercolor painting in hers, adorned in so many deep shades of blue and purple. Dad was so excited when Mom wrapped his new scarf around his neck that he did a wild, thrashing dance right in the middle of the living room. Mom always jokes that the biting winter wind will snap our ears right off if we aren't careful. But we're safe and warm inside now, enjoying her famous holiday meat pie. I love it—especially the crunchy, chewy parts.
