Our house was violently haunted, so my lover and I hired a psychic to cleanse it. She handed us black candles and instructed, "The angry spirits can only be banished if you call out their exact names in the dark." At midnight, a freezing draft blew out all the candles. I shouted the ghost's name into the darkness. Beside me, my lover desperately screamed a name as well. Hearing her words, my blood ran cold as I stared at her silhouette. I knew right then... there was no way we were surviving the night.
