Puzzle

To cure my chronic insomnia, I paid a fortune for a session in the highly anticipated 'Chrysalis' deep-sleep bionic pod. But the neural-dream system seemed horribly glitched. Instead of the advertised tranquil meadows, my vision was flooded with bloated, pale larvae gnawing on human skulls, their spun silk tangled with dark, wet veins and hair. Even after I toggled on the 'Sanitized' visual filter, the pod walls remained scarred with desperate, bloody fingernail scratches. Nauseated, I followed the manual's final instruction and activated the 'Perspective Override' to force 'Cocoon Mode.' Instantly, the nightmare vanished. A profound, unprecedented warmth and safety enveloped me. I felt incredibly light, as if endless, soft silver threads were being gently drawn directly from my own core, weaving a perfect sanctuary in the void. I closed my eyes, sinking into absolute bliss—until a sudden, tearing agony ripped through my abdomen, as though my organs were being violently hollowed out. Only then did I realize what, exactly, was being 'drawn' from my body.
