Bad Roots

"Pull the root! Heave and ho! Come here, friends, help me pull! Red roots, white roots, bad roots!" The children chanted cheerfully, tugging together with all their might. When the "red roots" and "white roots" finally gave way with a sickening snap, the adults who found them vomited in terror.
