For decades, the elderly monk of St. Jude's Abbey rang the heavy iron bell at exactly 3 AM. A week ago, he passed away. Yet, the villagers in the valley never noticed his absence, and the 3 AM chimes never missed a single night. It wasn't until the seventh day, when a foul stench descended from the tower, that they investigated the belfry. They found the monk's rotting corpse shoved in a dark corner, alongside a peacefully sleeping child and a completely shattered wooden cane.
