A Sure Thing

My captain fired me because my intuition was 'statistically worse than a coin flip', so I was terrified to play the kidnapper's game. He stood before five steel lockers and said, 'She's in there... make a choice, and if you're right, you find her.' I picked the third locker and found her immediately, so why can't I stop screaming?
