Grandma's Basement

Grandma’s cellar is my favorite place to hide from the summer heat, even though the air always tastes like rusty pennies. The gray walls are bumpy and filled with these pretty, translucent little stones that grow in clusters. I’ve been prying them out with a spoon all morning to make a necklace for Mommy.
