The Dead Man's Tape
Puzzle
The police had to batter down the heavy oak door to enter the study. Inside, they found Arthur slumped over his desk, a bullet hole in his chest and a voice recorder gripped tightly in his cold hand. The windows were sealed shut, and the only key to the room was found deep in Arthur's pocket. The detective pressed play on the recorder. Arthur's voice, thick with terror, screamed out: "No! Stay away! Please... don't kill me!" A gunshot cut the scream short. The detective sighed, looking at the bolted door. "It's a suicide."
Detective Hints
- Q1: Why was the detective so sure it was suicide despite the recording?
- Q2: What was the hidden motive behind Arthur's death?
