The Final Dose
Puzzle
I was born blind, but my mother promised her new 'special treatment' would restore my sight. She feeds me a gelatinous sphere every night before bed. It hasn't cured me yet, but it gives me vivid, terrifying nightmares.
Night 1: I dreamt I was blinded by high-beams and crushed by a speeding truck.
Night 2: I felt like I was trapped in a wet, muscular sleeping bag, slowly being crushed to death.
Night 3: Mom told me she was fired from the morgue today. That night, I dreamt she was looming over me, sawing off my head.
Night 4: I swallowed the medicine. Suddenly, I saw a reflection in a mirror, and I realized two things: I was never dreaming, and I am not living through this night.
