The Glass Prison

I am trapped in a long, transparent cell. There are walls behind me, above me, below me, and on both sides. The only way out is straight ahead, but the exit is blocked by a massive, tangled wall of white fibers. Then, the torture begins. An intense heat rises from beneath the floor, searing my skin. I try to run, but there is nowhere to go. I writhe in agony as my body cracks and disintegrates in the inferno. Finally, I die... but my ghost, light and airy, manages to slip through the white fibers and escape into the cool water beyond.
