The Endless Shift

I am a creature of habit. I sat at my desk and worked my full eight hours today, never once leaving my cubicle. But when I finally swiped my badge to go home, the machine angrily flashed red: 'Too early to clock out.' I looked at the clock on the wall, and my stomach dropped.
