The Last Stop

I caught the last subway after a grueling shift and dozed off. I awoke to find the train idling at a decrepit, unfamiliar station. I stepped onto the platform, and the doors immediately hissed shut as the train sped off into the dark. I wandered the empty station for hours, a suffocating sense of dread washing over me. But despite everything, I still ended up exactly where I do every single night.
